The fine print

The terms, in plain English

What you’re agreeing to when you use CampCancel. How it works, what you pay, how refunds go, and the honest limits.

01

What CampCancel is

CampCancel watches campground reservation systems and emails you when a site opens up for the dates you want. That is the whole job. We do not book sites, hold reservations, or touch your reservation. When an alert lands, you book the site yourself on the official reservation platform (Recreation.gov, ReserveAmerica, your state or provincial system, and so on).

We are an independent service. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Recreation.gov, the National Park Service, Parks Canada, or any state or provincial parks agency.

02

Your account

You sign in with your email through Clerk, our authentication provider, so there is no password to manage. Keep your email accurate and your inbox yours. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

03

What it costs and how billing works

There are two subscriptions and a one-time option:

  • Basic is $15 a month for up to 3 active alerts.
  • Pro is $30 a month for up to 7 active alerts.
  • A Single Trip Watch is $12, paid once, for one trip. It watches your dates until they pass, then it is done. No subscription, nothing to cancel.

Payments run through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your dashboard under Settings and billing, and you keep access through the period you already paid for. If we ever change a price, we will tell you before it affects you.

04

Refunds

We want you to feel good about paying:

  • Subscriptions: if we do not catch a single cancellation at your park within 30 days of you subscribing, email us and we will refund that month. No forms, no runaround.
  • Single Trip Watch: if no alert fires during your trip’s watch window, email us and we will refund the $12. Once we have sent you an alert, the service did its job, so that one is not refundable.

Either way, the fastest path is to email tim@campcancel.com.

05

Before you dispute a charge

If something looks wrong with a charge, email tim@campcancel.com first. A refund from us usually lands faster than a dispute through your bank, and we would much rather make it right directly than fight a chargeback over a few dollars. Please reach out before disputing a charge with your card issuer.

06

What we cannot promise

We do our best, but here are the honest limits. The availability data comes from third-party reservation systems and can be wrong or out of date. We cannot guarantee that an alert reaches you before someone else books the site, or that a cancellation will ever happen for your exact dates. We monitor cancellations; we do not create them. CampCancel is provided as is.

07

Fair use

Use CampCancel like a camper, not a bot. Please do not:

  • Hit the service with automated tools or scrapers
  • Try to get around rate limits or other technical restrictions
  • Resell or redistribute our data
  • Use the service for anything unlawful
  • Interfere with how the service runs for everyone else
08

Ending things

You can delete your account any time. Your alerts stop and your data is removed in line with our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service or breaks these terms.

09

Liability

If something goes wrong, our responsibility to you is limited to what you have paid us. We are not on the hook for a missed alert, inaccurate availability data, or a campsite you were not able to book.

10

Changes to these terms

We will update these terms now and then. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using CampCancel after that, you are okay with the update.
