About Alapocas Run State Park

Alapocas Run is lush getaway situated in the heart of Wilmington. Trails through softly rolling hills of fields and forest are connected to the Northern Delaware Greenway and pass a rock-climbing area, one of the parks most serene spots. Nestled within the heart of Wilmington, Alapocas Run State Park is located just off I-95 at RT 202 Concord Pike near the intersection of Foulk and Weldin Roads in north Wilmington. Alapocas Run features one pavilion and a picnic area with tables and grills, located near the Can-Do-Playground - a barrier free play area for children of all abilities. Nearby athletic fields are available by permit. An extensive trail system affords the opportunity for hiking and biking through fields and forests. You can also visit the Blue Ball Barn, the centerpiece of Alapocas Run, a once abandoned dairy barn built by Alfred I. DuPont that has been transformed into a showcase and is the permanent home of the Delaware Folk Art Collection.

Recreation: Can-Do-Playground, Walking trails, Biking trails, Multi-purpose Athletic Fields, Rock Climbing, and the Self-Interpretive Exhibits of turn-of-century dairy farming and the Delaware Folk Art Collection
