About this park

This park's rolling hills and deep ridges are all that remain of the glaciers that once covered this area. Despite being a mere 20 minutes away from Winnipeg, the aspen and oak parkland and native prairie provide an ideal habitat for wildlife like deer, waterfowl, and songbirds. In addition to being a natural habitat for wildlife, Birds Hill is a natural gathering place for people. It is home to one of North America's largest folk music events, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, as well as to a range of other year-round recreational activities and sporting events. Paved and natural surface trails enable cyclists, rollerblade enthusiasts, hikers, and cross-country skiers to weave their way through the park. A man-made lake and beach provide for excellent swimming and sun tanning. Birds Hill Campground offers basic, electrical and full service camping.

Located in the Campground
Convenience store, dump station (near the campground office), firewood (available for purchase at the campground store), horseshoe, interpretive programs (amphitheatre), kiosk (at the campground office), laundry (at the campground store), modern washrooms, pay showers, pit privies, playground, restaurant (at the Ranch and Bean concession), water taps, and Wi-Fi.

Located in the Park
Biking, canoeing (on Kingfisher Lake), fishing (on Kingfisher Lake), hiking (self guided trails), horseback (riding stables), picnic areas, picnic shelter, bike rentals (at the beach), swimming (unsupervised beach), tennis (off North Drive), and volleyball (at the beach).

Located Outside the Campground
Gas station.
