About this park

Two forks of the Black River flow through this 68,000-acre forest comprised of pine and oak woods under high sandstone abutments. This central Wisconsin forest offers many recreational opportunities, including camping, canoeing, hunting, hiking, skiing and ATV riding. Three different family campgrounds are found within the forest (Castle Mound, East Fork and Pigeon Creek). Both an outdoor and indoor group camp are available at the East Fork Campground. A reservable shelter is in the picnic area at Castle Mound.
