Canoe Point State Park is only reachable by boat, offering a quiet camping experience in a wooded area with plenty of dock space available. Just south of the camping area is the appropriately named Picnic Point, a picnic ground with a beautiful picnic gazebo, shore dinner cooking facility, and dockage. The fishing in the area is excellent, drawing anglers from miles around.

Several state parks are nearby, including Cedar Island State Park, Grass Point State Park, Dewolf Point State Park, Wellesley Island State Park, and Mary Island State Park.
The park is located on the northeast end of Grindstone Island, facing Eel Bay and the Canadian Channel and can only be accessed by water. The best access is from Wellesley Island, just over the Thousand Islands Bridge, or from Grass Point State Park on Rte 12, 1 mile south of the Thousand Islands Bridge. 315-686-3048
The only way to get to the park is by boat. There are no bridges or ferries. Boat rentals are available at Wellesley Island State Park Marina (315) 482-6503 and at Grass Point Marina (315) 686-5589. General Information: This park operates under a 2-day window for advance reservations. Smoking is not permitted in the cabins. Campers must be at least 18 years old to register for a site. ATTENTION PET OWNERS: Current proof of rabies inoculation is required at check-in (metal tags will not be accepted). At any time during your stay, pet owners may be required to provide proof of rabies inoculation upon request. Be sure to have this information available to present to park staff. Where pets are permitted, there is a maximum limit of 2 pets per site. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft and under control at all times. Do not leave pets unattended and always clean up after them. Pet owners/permit holders are liable for any damage, personal injury, or nuisance caused by the pet. PRE-REGISTRATION: Have an existing reservation? Don't forget to PRE-REGISTER!! Two days prior to arrival you can sign into Reserve America and pre-register. IT SAVES TIME. LENGTH OF STAY: A camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous nights. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 48 hours before registering again for another site.
