Take I-84 to La Grande, OR. Take exit 265. Turn on Highway 203/237 to Union, OR. - 16 miles. In Union, watch for turnoff for the park. The park is located 8 miles out of Union, OR.
As of June 4, 2024 Day-use area closed because of high water. No estimated date when it will reopen. The park closes during the winter. Call the Oregon State Park Information Center at 800-551-6949 for details. Campgrounds and day use areas close 10/19. SPECIAL USE PERMITS Non-typical picnic related events and activities require a permit obtained at least 30 days prior to arrival. You must contact the park (541-983-2277) if you have: Special events (baptisms, weddings, car shows, etc) Catering or vendors Use of kegs (OLCC permits will be required) Bouncy houses or other inflatables Sounds systems, DJS, or other entertainment Personal setup items (decorations, chairs, BBQs) Items requiring driving stakes or other objects into the ground or attaching items to structures/natural resources Information on discount programs, can be found at the Oregon State Parks website.
