About this park

Eagle Point Campground is located on the west shore of 4,230-acre Schroon Lake. The nine-mile-long, one-and-a-half-mile-wide, 152-foot-deep lake is paradise to anglers and boaters alike. Geography: The land on which the campground is situated was purchased in 1928. It encompassed approximately 1 mile of shoreline on the west side of Schroon Lake and 1 mile of International Highway. Construction of Eagle Point Campground (which derives its name from a sandy point on the shoreline) was started in the years 1928-1929, with campsites added in ensuing years. Recreation: Motor boats, rowboats, and canoes are welcome at the park, with a boat launch available. Fish include lake trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, bullhead, and pickerel. Hiking trails are nearby, and the park has a picnic area. Facilities: The park has campsites, restrooms with showers, a trailer dump station, a recycling center, a boat launch, a picnic area with tables, fireplaces, and charcoal grills, handicapped accessibility, and pay telephones. Nearby Attractions: Restaurants, antique shops, gift stores, and various craft shops are nearby.
