The campground sits in a forest of conifers and rhododendrons located high above the Big Quilcene River. A short scenic loop trail offers visitors a view of a cascading waterfall one hundred feet into the Big Quilcene River.
Recreation: Camping, hiking, scenery, fishing and picnicking. Other opportunities in the area include Mt. Walker Viewpoint located 1.5 miles south of the campground, 4 miles up a one lane gravel road (not recommended for vehicles pulling trailers or motor homes). The road leads to the Mt. Walker summit, an elevation of 2,835 feet. There are excellent views of Puget Sound, Seattle, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, Mt. Buckhorn, Mt. Jupiter, and Mt. Constance on a clear day. On even clearer days, you may be able to see the Space Needle or Mt. Helens. Nearby Hood Canal and Quilcene Bay are known for their oysters and clam beds with swimming, boating and waterskiing also available. Many hikes are within ½ to one-hour drive from Falls View Campground.
