About this park

Visit beautiful Hecla Provincial Park to capture an intriguing mosaic of island spirits. The maritime flavour of the island, combined with the heritages of Icelandic and Ukrainian cultures, may inspire you to visit the historic heritage village museum. Along the shoreline's winding scenic drive, stop by the turn of the century fishing village; restored buildings include a church, community hall, 1920s school, Icelandic home and a village store, still in operation. There are many services and features of the park including playgrounds, interpretive programs, tennis courts, pickle ball court, a sandy beach, picnic areas, boat docking, marina with boat rentals, nature trails, fishing, 18 hole golf course, and bicycle trails.
