The park includes woodlots and forested habitat with mature oak and hickory trees. Springtime brings a variety of wildflowers such as bluebells and violets that cover the landscape with color. From summer to fall, the field and forest floors will come to life with the many species of aster and goldenrod found in the park. Black-eyed susan is abundant throughout the park. Visitors can also see cardinal flowers, a favorite to hummingbirds and distinguishable by its bright scarlet flower. The park is also home to numerous birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
