About this park

Lake Owyhee State Park is a remote oasis catering to camping and boating on the shore of a scenic desert canyon reservoir. Owyhee Reservoir is a 53-mile-long lake, filling a narrow, deep canyon brimming with colorful volcanic rock formations. The cabins at Indian Creek Campground at Lake Owyhee State Park are reservable March 1 through November 14th. McCormack Campground is open from April 15 through October 31, with reservations May 1 through September. Indian Creek campground is open April 15 through November 14th. Reservations are available May 1 through November 14th. Potable water is only available mid-April through mid-October. No pay phones or cell phone service at the park. Volunteer hosts and staff are not always available. This is a remote recreational experience. Please prepare accordingly. MAKE SURE YOUR SITE MEETS YOUR CAMPING NEEDS Before reserving, please become familiar with the particulars of your chosen site, including the size of the tent pad area and the type of equipment that you may bring to the park.
