The bluffs overlooking the connecticut River give this park a perspective that is unique among all others in the state park system.
Location: River Highlands State Park is lush with mixed woodlands and hilly topoography which ranges from an elevantion of about 15' above sea level to 150' at the northern and southern high spots on the bluffs.
Recreation: There are many trails in the park to lead the hiker across wooden bridges, over streams, along the 150 foot high bluff, or to the water's edge past a unique geological feacture known as the "blowhole." One can hear the wind as it whistles past the bluff.

Be sure to check the Connecticut River conditions; the campsites are in lowlands and potentially flood. There is no potable water available.
