St. Malo is a great family-oriented park, complete with two beaches, hiking and biking trails, and swimming opportunities. St. Malo Reservoir was created in 1958 by damming the Rat River - this was done to respond to concerns about the area's water supply. The establishment of the park, along with a beach and campground, followed two years later. Today, the popular campground is home to campsites that offer either electrical or basic service. Beach volleyball, boardsailing, canoeing, miniature golf, fishing, water fun rentals, playgrounds, and interpretive programming are also enjoyed by campers.
