The hills of the Turtle Mountains are dotted with over 200 lakes, and the area is host to a wealth of wildlife. For those familiar with the prairies of Manitoba, the view from the Turtle Mountains gives quite a different perspective, as the hills rise 245 metres above the plains. Try your luck at catching some trout or perch while at William Lake, or spend the day on the beach or at the day use area. Another highlight is the 7.5 kilometres of hiking trails, especially the Turtles Back hiking trail, which features a lookout tower. The campsites in the campground offer basic camping opportunities.
