The park offers 33 remote campsites and 4 remote cabins which provides access to the Umbagog Lake National Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge, NH. These remote sites and cabins offer a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities including loons, bald eagles, river otters and moose. The basecamp campsites will reopen in 2018.

Getting There

From I-93: Take exit 36 onto Route 3 North. Follow Route 3, to Route 115, to Route 2, to Route 16, to Route 26. Follow Route 26 for seven miles to Umbagog Lake State Park. From I-95: Take Route 16 north to Route 26 east. Follow Route 26 for seven miles to Umbagog Lake State Park.

Park Information Maximum number of people for remote sites vary depending on the site. Check specific site information for maximum number of people. There is limited cell service at this park. Some remote sites are closed until July 20th because of loon nesting sites. Canoes can be rented overnight. Campers should contact the campground 2 weeks in advance to rent canoes, or kayaks and make arrangements for transportation to remote sites. Pet Policy Leashed pets are permitted in the base campground area but at not permitted in cabins at Ellis Camps. Pets are prohibited in the beach-front day use area, and remote campsites in the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge (campsites R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R9, R10, R13, R14, R15, R16, R18, R21, R22, R23, R28, R29, R30 and R32). Full refund minus reservation fee plus cost of one night of camping if you cancel 4-9 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. No refund if you cancel 0-3 days from your scheduled arrival date. NH State Parks does not issue refunds due to insects or weather. If there are any concerns about your reservation, please call the Reserve America Call Center at 1-877-647-2757 Any refund requests occurring after the reservation arrival date must be submitted in writing or emailed to State Parks Headquarters within 14 days of departure. Please do not bring out-of-state firewood with you. Firewood can carry exotic insects and tree diseases. Safe firewood is available to purchase at the campground for your convenience. Booking Rules: The maximum reservation window is 11 months in advance and sites become available at 8am (9am on weekends) exactly 11 months from the anticipated arrival day. For Umbagog youth group reservations please contact 603-271-3556.Youth Groups are NOT allowed on family sites. Fee Information: The nightly base site fee pays for 2 adults only and up to 4 dependent children under 18. You must be 18 to register for a campsite. Extra adults are $10 per night. Additional children are $5 per night NH Senior Citizens are given a $5 per night discount to all campgrounds with the exception of Cannon Mountain RV, Ellacoya, and Hampton Beach. NH Seniors must bring their NH photo ID for discount verification. NH State Employees are given a 50% discount on campsites with the exception of yurts and cabins. NH State Employees must bring their State ID or current paystub for discount to be applied.
