Little Deer Creek campground is a remote primitive campground accessed by dirt road. There are 16 tent/small trailer sites available to campers. One group site limited to a maximum of 25 people is also available. The campground is located in the valley between the Great Western Trail on the western skyline and Cummings Parkway Road on the eastern skyline. Camping is only permitted in the developed campground. Off highway vehicles are allowed to depart right from the campsites onto the nearby roads and trails. One vehicle and one trailer per site are allowed free. More than that, an Extra Vehicle fee of $20 will be assessed
Location: Nestled against the property line of the Uinta National Forest at an elevation of 7,230 feet, visitors will experience Sub Alpine levels of foliage including Rocky Mountain Juniper, Quaking Aspens, Colorado Blue Spruce and Lodge Pole pines with Narrow Leaf Cottonwood trees along the Provo Deer Creek drainage. Surrounded in Oak Brush with patches of Choke Cherry and Willows Little Deer Creek is in a remote mountain setting. It can be dusty in late season and bugs tend to be a problem mid to late summer.
Recreation: Little Deer Creek campground is part of Wasatch Mountain State Park which consists of about 23,000 acres. Golfing, camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain bike and horseback riding are popular warm weather activities. Winter brings snowmobilers, snowshoeing enthusiasts, and cross-country skiers.
Nearby: 75 miles of dirt roads and trails is available for off road enthusiasts. The closest town is Midway and is about 10 miles away. There you will find gas stations, a grocery store, restaurants and shops.
Road to Little Deer Creek may be rough due to run off water in the spring. Hauling trailers and equipment is at your own risk
