About White Clay Creek State Park

Come to White Clay Creek to escape the encroaching development of New Castle County. The park's lush greenery and sparkling streams offer a refreshing change of pace and countless opportunities for outdoor fun and relaxation. Hiking is one of the most popular activities in the park. Thirty-seven miles of trails lead explorers to historic sites and scenic vistas overlooking lush valleys and impressive rock outcrops. Hikers and mountain bike riders can enjoy trails at Possum Hill and the Judge Morris Estate, or follow the Pomeroy Rail-Trail to the pedestrian bridge over White Clay Creek.

Rules & Important Info

Entrance Fees: In effect March 1 through November 30. Credit Cards are accepted, Cash only if fee booth is open. Park Hours: 8:00 AM to sunset. Park Office: 302-368-6900, Office located at 750 Thompson Station Rd. Newark, DE 19711 Amusement devices (moon bounces, etc.) & Tents/Canopies: Additional space may be available for amusement devices (moon bounces etc.) or canopies. Visitors must contact the park office at least one week prior to the event for information on availability, cost, and to secure a space. Delaware now requires a fishing license to cover both salt water and fresh water fishing. This includes recreational clamming and crabbing. The license may be purchased at agents authorized by the Division of Fish & Wildlife.
